Abstract: The article deals with folk notions about time and its division; they are a basis for recommendations and prohibitions related to traditional spinning and weaving. Technological requirements serve as signs for proper orientation of women in time continuum. According to these signs special features and characteristics of the manufactured goods depend to a great extend on the time when the above-mentioned activities take place. Detected regional differences in knowledge motivate variety of practices and are a part of local culture.
