Abstract: In his novel Summit, Milen Ruskov uses distinct language that creates a special atmosphere which becomes difficult to convey in translation. The challenges in translating it also come from the translator’s task to create a version of a language that does not exist in linguistic reality. The aim of this paper is to compare the Hungarian and Serbian translations of the novel. Péter Krasztev translated Възвишение into Hungarian in 2017, published under the title Felmagasztosulás. Jasmina Jovanović translated the Serbian version , titled Uzvišenje, also published in 2017.
