Abstract: The article deals with bilingual phrasebooks from the third quarter of the nineteenth century. The subject of this article is the label formulas used in phrasebooks from the Bulgarian Revival. The speech etiquette of the Bulgarian Revival is studied and an attempt is made to analyze the speech behavior and linguistic culture of the Bulgarian educated people of that time. Expressions for pleading, thanking, greeting and wishes, and labeling formulas for apologizing and regret are presented.
